Allison Albert Guercio

DIRECTOR OF MEMBERSHIP, OPERATIONS & MARKETING

Allison Albert Guercio serves as both “Engineer of Happiness” – promoting member recruitment, retention and engagement – and “Director of Buzz” – leading integrated marketing and communications strategies. With Maryland Nonprofits since 2009, she has been instrumental in re-branding and enhancing communications, including launching several websites, creating the weekly member newsletter, and developing the first blog and social media strategy. Allison enhanced the member user experience through the development of tech infrastructure that facilitates connections, resource sharing, and knowledge management. On #GivingTuesday 2014, she spearheaded the statewide #MDGivesMore campaign, which highlighted nonprofits’ contributions to communities, tallied over $9 million in generosity (dollars and hours donated), and resulted in national recognition as the “Most Generous State.”

Outside work, Allison volunteers as a “Cat Cuddler” with the MD SPCA, and a foster for Kitties & Pitties. She lives in Catonsville with her husband, very spoiled dog, and two mischievous kitties. She enjoys cooking, live music (especially bluegrass), and anything outdoorsy-adventurous. A self-described “National Park junkie,” she has camped, hiked, climbed, rafted, and sight-seen at over 50 parks across the country. Originally from Tennessee, Allison has a B.A. in Geography from the University of South Carolina and an M.S.P.P. in Environmental Policy from the University of Maryland.
