Executive Directors Peer Network Group

Do something nice for yourself this year. Get the support, assistance and encouragement you need to be an effective executive director and to survive potential burn out. Maryland Nonprofits sponsors Executive Directors Peer Network Groups for both "new" and "seasoned" executive directors. The sessions meet monthly, with separate groups in Baltimore and Silver Spring. At these confidential sessions, participants bring to the table issues they are grappling with from their own organizations, discuss news and trends affecting the nonprofit environment, kickback and vent about the challenges of being an executive director and just enjoy each others’ company. Where else can you find a supportive group of colleagues who understand the challenges you face?

The sessions are facilitated by Peter Berns, Executive Director of Maryland Nonprofits, and experts are brought in to explore specific topics in depth as requested or needed.

The New Executives group is appropriate for people who have been executive directors for five years or less. The Seasoned Executives group is appropriate for people who have been executive directors for more than five years.

How Can YOU Participate?

Participation in the Executive Director Peer Network Groups is open only to members of Maryland Nonprofits and is free.

To sign up for one of these groups, please review the schedule below for 2008. If you can commit to attend at least half of the sessions, send an email to pberns@mdnonprofit.org and you will be added to the list of participants and will receive monthly reminders of the meeting dates. If you can't commit now, but would like to join a group in the future, let us know as well.

Silver Spring Seasoned Executive Directors Peer Network Group

Dates and times are to be determined. This is a new group that will be launched when we have 8-10 individuals expressing interest in participating.
