Maryland Nonprofits provides Executive Transition Services to our members including access to interim executive directors and executive transition coaching services at a moderate cost. These services are also available to non-members at a higher rate. Below are the  services now available to assist your organization in successfully managing its executive transition:

EXECUTIVE TRANSITION MANAGEMENT  

Busy board members are often overwhelmed when facing an executive transition.  Maryland Nonprofits provides a full-service program to help prepare your organization for the transition, we manage the search process, and we help get your new executive off to a great start.  Each organization decides what part of the work of transition the board and volunteers will do and where consulting assistance is desired. The phases and possible services are tailored to the organization and can include:

• Preparation – Assessing the organization's needs in a new executive director; reviewing compensation, and developing a plan for interim management when necessary.

• Recruitment and Selection – Maryland Nonprofits will develop a customized search plan for your organization and will handle placing the advertisements, receiving resumes, screening candidates, and supporting the committee transition.

• Post-Hire Launch – Maryland Nonprofits will help your organization ensure that the new executive director gets off to a great start with a written leadership agenda to guide the first 12-18 months.

INTERIM EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR PLACEMENT 

This service provides you an experienced executive director to serve as an interim executive for your organization. When an executive director leaves abruptly or there is a need for an interim period before a new executive is hired, this service provides your organization access to a pool of screened interim directors. Interim directors typically serve from one month to six months, depending on the need, and can be extended as necessary.
