House Calls - Board Excellence

Maryland Nonprofits' Board Excellence training has been given blanket approval by the Governors Office of Children to fulfill the new regulations for Residential Child Care programs in Maryland. This blanket approval means that neither you nor we have to go through the self-assessment or provide the curriculum to GOC for approval. They have already granted that to us. Upon completing our class, your board members will need to sign attestations stating that they attended the training, and you will need to keep those on file with your organization.

The session lasts three hours and costs $500 plus mileage for Maryland Nonprofits members. If more than 20 people attend the class, there is a $9 per person materials fee for each person above the initial 20. If you are not a Maryland Nonprofits member, the fee is $1000 plus mileage. Discounts may be available if the training can be held at one of Maryland Nonprofits' offices.

This session will include:

•  The legal and social accountability of the board of directors

•  Roles and responsibilities of boards, individual trustees, and staff

•  Principles for sound financial management

•  The board role as employer

•  Effective board development

Cost for 3 hr. Training:

$500 per Single Member Organization (for mixed groups / multiple organizations / conferences please call for pricing)

$1000 per Non-member Organization

*Plus tolls and mileage at the federal mileage reimbursement rate in effect at the time for the training.

2-Hr & Full-day programs are available by special arrangement.
