Maryland Association of Resources for Families and Youth (MARFY) Names Keron R. Sadler as Executive Director

July 29, 2021

The Maryland Association of Resources for Families and Youth (MARFY) remains the core association that exclusively represents providers who serve youth and families. Following an executive search process, Maryland Nonprofits leadership proudly selected Keron R. Sadler as MARFY’s Executive Director. She was elated to begin her tenure as an advocate of children and families by working closely with child caring organizations that provide foster care, group homes, and other services across Maryland.

Demonstrating her commitment to the importance of community and nonprofit leadership, Keron is a nationally recognized mover and shaker with a collaborative spirit and authentic passion founded on advocating for those who are marginalized, underrepresented, and underserved.

“We are thrilled to have such a talented and accomplished leader take on the helm of MARFY,” said Heather Iliff, President & CEO of Maryland Nonprofits. “Keron joins our team at a critical time, as we move forward with a vision for a wide array of partners and organizations serving children, youth, and families with greater equity and community-led solutions.”

Before joining MARFY, Keron served as the inaugural Chief Executive Officer for the Maryland LGBT Chamber of Commerce where she executed sound business practices and cultivated strategic partnerships and financial competency to level up the organization for statewide LGBT entrepreneurial and ally growth through networking, marketing advocacy, and education. For almost a decade, she was the national health manager and LGBTQ staff liaison at the oldest civil rights membership-based grassroots organization fighting for equality without discrimination.

Keron is also the founder of KRS Ministries and Lady Keron. She is a co-author of the Daily Dose of Direction Devotional for Women in Business and is in the United States Army Reserve as a 1st Lieutenant Chaplain. Additionally, Keron is an ordained Elder and trained psychotherapist. Most importantly, she is a proud mother of one son.

“I am more than humbled to lead an organization that has such a strong foundation of collaboration and commitment to economic growth, diversity, and inclusion. It is an exceptional opportunity for me to connect my passion with diverse and meaningful community engagement to advance equality for organizational growth and professional development. I am equally thrilled to be part of an amazing team and passionate Board of Directors. Leading with integrity, I cannot think of a greater honor than to be asked to join the Maryland Nonprofit team, which positions me for professional greatness and success,” said Keron.

MARFY became a program of Maryland Nonprofits in 2016, and the executive director of MARFY reports to the president & CEO of Maryland Nonprofits. MARFY is guided by an Executive Council comprised of MARFY Members. The current MARFY Executive Council Chair is Chloe Bernardi, CEO of Hearts and Homes for Youth.
