A Standards for Excellence Quiz—How well do you know your nonprofit governance versus management responsibilities? Attend the May 28th
Standards for Excellence Forum
to get the answers and learn more!

Maryland Nonprofits is pleased to welcome Susan Fort today as a guest blogger. Susan will serve as a panelist focused on crucial issues facing nonprofit boards of directors at our upcoming Standards for Excellence Forum on May 28, 2014.  Space is limited so register today for this special program.

How much do you know about governance versus management? According to the Standards for Excellence’s new educational bulletin, The Board & Executive Partnership:

In order for a nonprofit to function effectively, it is important to have a strong and respectful partnership between the board and the CEO. Misunderstandings often stem from the fine line between management and governance. While board work falls generally into the category of governance and the work of the executive falls generally into the category of management, there are some areas and responsibilities that may blur these lines.

Test your governance and management  knowledge. Is the responsibility governance, management, or both?! Put an X under “governance” and/or “management.” Come to the Standards for Excellence Forum on May 28 to find out the answers! If you are unable to attend the Forum, we will post the answers on this blog a few days following the BIG EVENT.
