María Pilar Rodríguez is a native of the Dominican Republic. Founder and President of MPR Business Solutions, LLC a Latina-owned-small-business, with a vision and mission to impact and offer support to grassroots, underserved communities, entrepreneurs and small business owners with administrative, developmental processes, minority certifications, all MVA Tags & Title Services and marketing knowledge for their startups, or existing small businesses at any stage of their development, in ways that strengthen economically disadvantaged disparities.
MPR Business Solutions aims to be the “Latino Business Support Hub” in the community. The conduit between, government licensing, and marketing for startups, or existing businesses. This support is crucial during the “growing pains” of establishing, or successfully operating a small and medium-sized business in Maryland and the surrounding DMV areas, especially when cultural and language limitations might prove a hindrance.
Recognized by the Daily Record of Baltimore as one of Maryland’s Top 100 Women for 2012. This coveted accolade crowned Maria Pilar with statewide recognition, overdue and richly deserved. A graduate of John Jay College of criminal justice, New York, NY and certification from the Paralegal Institute in New York, NY. She augmented these credentials with multiple accreditations as a Spanish interpreter, translator for multiple court systems, governmental institutions, and private sector. Her work to establish paralegal standards and protocols have been applied inside over a dozen New York and Maryland law firms and her involvement in both interpreting and translation services and administrative operations of the Maryland court system has been extensive.
Currently serves as the Executive Director of the Maryland Hispanic Business Conference and the Maryland Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. Ms. Rodriguez is as well known for her boundless energy as she is for her professional credentials and achievements. As the executive director of The Maryland Hispanic Business Conference (MDHBC) she organized and delivers the premier Hispanic Business event in the entire Washington, D.C. metropolitan region. The Conference has the unparalleled reputation for providing tools, strategies, and resources to better support Hispanic businesses – adding to Maryland’s economic fabric. At this event, attendees’ network with industry leaders, attend dynamic workshops and seminars to equip them with the tools needed to increase their revenue stream in this economy.
Ms. Rodriguez is a devoted member of her community at the local, county and states levels. She is involved with private organizations and non-profits to advance opportunities for women in business, the Hispanic community and charitable organizations, notably The William and Lanaea C. Featherstone Foundation, Alzheimer’s Association, Hispanic Chambers of Commerce, Asociación Dominicana of MD, Federation of Hispanic Organizations, MACIT and ATA organization of interpreters.
