Free Webinar: Getting Upstream to Reduce the Opioid Epidemic

February 15, 2018

Since 2000, opioid-related deaths have increased by 200% and nearly 80% of heroin users state they have used prescription pain relievers for nonmedical use. While funds have been released for crisis response such as increased access to naloxone at points of first response, increased medication-assisted treatment for opioid dependency, and geo-mapping by law officials, little attention has been paid to rethinking the healthcare response to pain before dependency begins.

On February 22 at 2 PM, Join Dr. Karl Haake, Pain Management Consultant for the Missouri Primary Care Association, and Dr. Leigh Steiner, Senior Analyst of Clinical Analytics and Applications at Relias, for a free webinar focused on how a provider office can incorporate the entire staff to start with an “opioid-free” approach.

The discussion will include leveraging behavioral health clinician expertise in assessing for behavioral health concerns that may exacerbate the pain condition and utilize behavioral health expertise in assisting persons with pain management behavioral techniques.
